As for refund. If you take your time crafting instead of trying to click as fast as possible, you won't have this problem.
Just check your inventory for the piece before attempting to craft the next.

Who cares if they're reskins? In my opinion, Eye of the North has the best armour sets of any of the games. For a few of the classes, it's the first time they've had any sets I've even remotely liked.
Good reskins are better than crap new models.

Actually, you can return armor back to the retail store you purchased it from as long as you have your sales receipt (and it still has the original sales tags on it) and you can show that it was never worn.
No receipt? No return.

Don't see why anyone would need this, do more research or suck it up and take your losses.

I see your point, and I agree with you, because it makes sense, as long as it's like 10-30 minutes, except for the part I quoted. The wiki pic is an IN-GAME SCREENSHOT! It isn't photoshopped to look better, the way the armor looks in game is the exact same as the pics on wiki, wiki pics of armor are basically Polaroids of in game visuals.

Better system when buying armour would be good, something like the character generation screen showing how the armour would appear on your character would be good.
Even then I would get bored jumping from armourer to amourer viewing them all so I just go look at all the images players have posted.
There are web pages showing all amours on all Male and female characters usually show different dye jobs too.
Sometimes we forget this game has been going for quite a few years now and the fan based resources are pretty good.
Before I started my Dervish and Paragon Characters I had already worked out what sex each would be and what armour I hoped to end up with.

I would /sign a changing room/armour preview mode kinda like the dye preview mode.
While pictures of armour are on the Wiki, sometimes you wanna see how it looks with your skintone, face and hairdo. /vain
As for double crafting, stop playing while you're drunk. Everyone has done stupid things in games at 3am in the morning when their eyeballs are not in their sockets. Live with it. If it doesn't hurt, you won't learn your lesson, now would you?
Put a rune there for swapping, or whatever.

/signed for the armors from Proph/Factions that can't have insignias on them.
/notsigned for anything else. That 10-30 minutes is enough time to visit the Eye, get it into HoM and go gget your refund for it. Basically free benefits in GW2.
However, on another note, expanded storage for armor-collecting elitists (such as myself) would help. I may be needing a second mule soon because I've collected a bit too much armor.

You get what you get. I would like it if we got a partial refund though, or salvaging the armor generally yielded the same amount of materials used originally.

Is it a good time to mention that Prophecies and Factions armor sets were updated to the insignia system a loooooooooong time ago?

No one is forcing you to buy the armor and there are plenty of ways to see what it looks like before purchasing. You don't like the set of armor you bought, too bad that is your problem.

I thought this topic was dumb until you said there would be only a 10-30 min return period. As long as there is a limit I think it's fine. After all you would've wasted money buying material for the armor so you still end up losing something at the end. Small things like HoM can be ironed out.

I agree 100% with this.
I've had unfortunate lag spikes while clicking to craft and ended up with two pieces of the same armor. I'd love a "Confirm" Button. Better yet, I'd love an "Armor Preview" window.
And armor refunds? Elite armors are there for a reason...it's a money sink. There is absolutely no other reason for it to exist. Anet added "elite" armors to play on players' vanity so they spend and therefore remove large chunks of money from the game. They'd never allow players to get a refund on something like that, it defeats the purpose.

some of my long time characters (made waaaay before titles) would really like to be rerolled so i can get survivor or LDoA on them, but they all have multiple sets of 15k armour that i dont want to lose. allready salvaged 3 sets of 15k while rerolling old characters this way, some kind of return other than a few steel etc would be a lot fairer.

So just salvage the armor and sell it before you destroy the armor!
Would you honestly expect the elite armor crafter to say "yes here is 70k in return for each set of your 15k armor". That would be a lot of gold just given away to you!
If it was obsideon armor, you would be getting back even more gold!!!
People would be instantly trading in elite armor sets to make themselves rich and running out to buy other items.
The economy would inflate over night!

You obviously didn't read the whole post, because the OP suggested a 10-30 minute deadline to return the armor after you bought it. People who bought obsidian armor 2 years ago couldn't go return it.

even so, what would make more sense?
1) Adding a preview system for armor, in the same fashion as dye.
2) Adding a refund function.
If people know what it looks lke before hand, they wont need to refund it. But we do have guildwiki for that and I find it hard to understand how you cant see exactly what armor looks like from high res photos.

You can already look at the armor sets on guildwiki and I think this would leave to much room for even more exploiting
